Giulian Lyn Handmade Jewelry — Frequently Asked Questions
Thank you for visiting Giulian Lyn! I get a lot of great questions from customers at craft shows, online, and through social media. I've gathered the most common ones here so you can learn more about my jewelry, my process, and how to shop with confidence.
Who is behind Giulian Lyn, and where is the jewelry made?
I'm a solo artisan working out of the Finger Lakes region of New York. Every single piece of Giulian Lyn jewelry is designed and handcrafted by me, start to finish. There's no factory, no assembly line, and no outsourcing. When you buy from me, you know exactly who made your jewelry and where it came from.
What materials do you use in your jewelry?
I work exclusively with genuine materials: sterling silver (stamped .925, meaning 92.5% pure silver), real gemstones, Swarovski crystals, copper, brass, and other quality metals. I never use plastic fillers or misleading imitations. If a listing says "amethyst," it's real amethyst, period.
What types of jewelry do you offer?
I make a wide variety of pieces, including earrings, necklaces, bracelets, rings, toe rings, nose rings, and pendants. Many of my designs feature wire-wrapping techniques and natural gemstones. There's something for just about every style and occasion.
Can I request a custom piece?
Absolutely! I love working on custom orders. If you have a specific gemstone, color palette, or design in mind, reach out to me directly and we'll talk through the details. Because each custom piece is made by hand, please allow extra time for completion.
How should I care for my Giulian Lyn jewelry?
Sterling silver can tarnish over time when exposed to humidity, perspiration, cosmetics, or chlorine. The best thing you can do is wear your pieces often (regular wear actually helps prevent tarnish) and store them in a dry, airtight bag when you're not wearing them. For cleaning, a soft polishing cloth works great on silver and most metals. If your piece includes porous gemstones like turquoise, opal, or amber, avoid soaking them in water. Harder stones like amethyst, garnet, and citrine can be gently cleaned with mild soap and warm water.
Do you offer bulk discounts?
I do! If you're buying 10 or more items, you'll receive 15% off your order. Orders of 20 or more items get 20% off. This is a great option for bridal parties, gifts, or anyone who wants to stock up on favorites.
Where can I find you at local events and craft shows?
I'm a regular at craft fairs and local events throughout the Finger Lakes region of New York. I post my upcoming show schedule on my website and social media pages, so follow along to find out where I'll be next. Meeting customers in person is one of my favorite parts of this work.
What is your return or exchange policy?
Because every piece is handmade (and custom orders are made specifically for you), my return policy differs from what you might see at big retailers. Please check my shop policies page for the most current details on returns and exchanges. I always want you to be happy with your purchase, so don't hesitate to reach out if something isn't right.
Do you offer jewelry-making workshops?
I do! I offer hands-on workshops where you can learn jewelry-making techniques and create your own pieces. These are a wonderful experience for mothers and daughters, friend groups, or anyone curious about the craft. Keep an eye on my website and social media for upcoming workshop dates and registration details.
How long does it take to receive my order?
Production times vary depending on what you order and whether it's a ready-made or custom piece. Most in-stock items ship within a few business days. Custom orders take longer since I'm building your piece from scratch. I'll always communicate a timeline with you before I begin, so there are no surprises.
